I wonder if these people (POMc and Dredging Co.) were taught to clean up after themselves when they were children? It seems to be a problem with a lot of developers. Lots of people complain about the mess left on their building sites. The wanton destruction of our environment seems to me to reflect a disregard for the effects of one's actions on the world. Quite myopic. Where I live (in Rye) we locals collect rubbish over the holiday period from sand dunes, beaches and carparks. Boaters chuck their rubbish overboard and it ends up on beaches.It is therefore not suprising to find larger Corporate groups disrespectful and irresponsible. We share this planet with nature. I was walking as I have always along Black Rock Beach – ‘Seaview’ end where I cam across a dead blue little penguin. I unfortunately did not check whether it had a tag on it’s foot,which would have helped to identify where it came from. St Kilda or other… It looked just fresh – 7.30pm. But I must admit I have never seen in my whole life a dead blue penguin washed up on the local beach here. Lots of Cormorants and general Seagulls but never a little blue penguin.
