(Feb 7) According to the latest environmental management statement, it appears that the 2 proposed dump areas remain unchanged(off Mornington/Mt Martha and in the middle of the Bay, parallel with Mordialloc).
See the recently released document:
www.channelproject.com/environment/management.asp
(I think it is shown in Figure 10)

Thanks to the efficiency and hard work of the Blue Wedges Team yesterday and their upcoming court case on Feb. 20 (fingers crossed!), the dredging is now to start in the Channel off Rosebud (tomorrow?), not near the City.

But, wherever they are, the proposed dump spots are STILL very bad news!

Indeed Jo, the environmental movement is gathering like a tsunami across Victoria and across the world. We, the people, love our planet.
Am duly impressed with the 'storming of the bastille' at Parliament today by a united solidarity of diverse groups.

Did anybody else notice in this week's Leader article by Theresa Murphy that the PoMC has changed the site for the toxic dump from Black Rock /Beaumaris area to Rosebud?

Now how has that been brought about? Curioser and Curioser?! Hilary

No need to sound so despondent. You have all done an amazing job! We still have a chance and need to stay positive inlight of people like Peter Garrett. And if we don't get it stopped then we watch them like hawks....we monitor dive sites, we watch our beaches and we flood Peter Garrett with the evidence of destruction and we get the decision revoked. Come everyone 'chin up'.
